Story

Ok, first things first. All three us have paid for this trip ourselves, so all the money we raise goes direct to our chosen charities - so be as generous as you can (it's not paying for an adventure holiday)!

We are raising money for two equally deserving children's charity. This page is for the world famous work done by the Great Ormand Street Hospital (GOSH). We have a mirror page for a local childrens hospice (Demelza - http://www.justgiving.com/Chris-Phil-and-Steve-Climb-Kilimanjaro page) which does equally amazing work.

Who

Chris Symons (40) Development Director GLL. Married, 2 kids, dodgy ankle and a devout Chelsea supporter.

Steve Ward (38) Head of Marketing at GLL & company Chair. Should be married, has dodgy back and a supporter

Philip Donnay (40 in August!) Finance Director GLL. Married, 2 kids, dodgy all round, shows his Polish Lownland Sheepdogs as a hobby.

What

A ten day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (5898m). For three middle aged desk bound office workers this ain't a walk in the park (although tecnically it is in Tanzania's National Park). At this point, we need to point out it's an attempt to climb Kilimanjaro

When

Mid September 2010, so a few months to get the training under our belts and pester as many people we know to sponsor us.

Why

We have all worked together at Greenwich Leisure Limited (www.gll.org) for a combined total of 50 years and thought it was about time we got out from behing our collective desks and did something adventurous. There must be a mid life crisis in there somewhere. It is also a great way to raise some money for charities that support children.
