Story

LloydsTSB Bank Manager runs for local Cancer Charity.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I think it is important to give back to the local community.  Two of my customers, Kevin and Fiona Anderson do too.  As well as running a successful business in Coalville they also raise money through a Charitable Trust. It was set up by their son Robbie Anderson who died from an aggressive form of cancer in 2006 aged just 13.

Robbie wanted to improve the facilities at the Leicestershire Royal Infirmary for teenage cancer sufferers.  He was able to do this before he died and the Trust continues to help today.  They even made a substantial donation to the national Teenage Cancer Trust who are seeking to raise £1.2m to add specialised cancer units to 3 hospitals in the East Midlands.

I think Robbie's aspiration is still worth supporting today, which is why I have chosen his Trust as my chosen charity for this year's Robin Hood Half Marathon.  I hope you agree and feel able to give generously to this worthwhile cause.  More information can be found on this page or use this link.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Robbie's inspiration will be my inspiration as I run.  I will be digging deep as this will be only the second time I have ever run this far. So please will you dig deep and donate now.  Thank you.

About the charity

Robbie set up this charity just before he died to improve the quality of life for young people with cancer. It continues to support Ward 27 through funding trips away, revamping treatment rooms, providing vital equipment such as a bladder & canula scanner and opening a complimentary therapy room.
