Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

In May, I am going to run from Gas Street Basin, Birmingham, to Little Venice, London, which is approximately 150 miles, or 6 marathons, back-to-back. This event is the longest non-stop endurance race in the UK and has a 66% drop-out rate, again the highest of any British race, and so as you can imagine I am not taking this epic run lightly!

I am training up to 140 miles per week, covering up to 50 miles at a time in order to make sure I complete the race, and through each and every mile that I run it is the thought of my little sister that drives me on.

In September 2009 my little sister, Alicia, was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia and since then she, myself, and our family have been through so much. From the inevitable questions about death, to endless nights in hospital we faced Alicia's illness head on and her bravery in the face of death is what has inspired me to do this run.

I want to raise money for "Cure Leukaemia" who are doing incredible work in Birmingham in order to research and combat Leukaemia. Every pound that I raise will take me one step further because it really is essential that continual developments are made in the field of Leukaemia.

I promised Alicia that I would run this race 4 days after she was diagnosed, and we have both had a goal to set our sights on since then - she had to beat Leukaemia, and I had to beat my laziness. She has filled her part of the bargain, and I am working on fulfilling mine, so please sponsor me and help the battle against Leukaemia.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK.
