I will be abseiling 450ft down Guy's Towe on Saturday 15th May 2010, this is to help raise funds for ECHO.  They do an outstanding amount for all the childrens and families who come into contact with them.

As some of you may be aware heights are not my strong point, so this really will be testing me to the max!  However after reading and seeing some of the children/ familes courage I feel this is a simple thing to do in comparrison to what they have to endure.  If I can raise as much money as I can to help towards some of their comfort and enabaling their familes to stay close to them and ECHO to continue to support all families then my mission is complete/

The Evelina Children's Heart Organisation (ECHO) was set up to offer support to families of children with heart conditions who are treated at the Evelina Childrens's hospital within Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital trust.

They support children and families in the following ways:

• - Newsletter - sent out free of charge four times a year
• - Website with message boards for on-line support, information and links to other, relevant sites and organisations
• - Ward visits to parents whose child is an in-patient
• - Telephone support
• - Pre Natal support - telephone volunteers and specialised ante-natal classes
• - Social events, parties and meetings
• - Support and social events for older children and teenagers
• - Provisions of toys, facilities and small items of medical equipment for the Cardiac Ward at the Evelina Children's     Hospital.

Membership of ECHO is free and open to all families whose heart child is treated at the Evelina Hospital, no matter where they live.
