After many years of research, Professor Raisman now believes that he is in the final stages of providing a cure for spinal injury. He is confident that he will rewrite the futures of the thousands of people who are currently suffering from spinal injury.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: black; mso-fareast-font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><span style="font-size: small;">My inspiration for running the marathon and supporting this particular charity is to help Steven, a young local man. Previously a healthy and active teenager, Steven was paralysed overnight by a virus four and a half years ago, aged 15 years. After a year's intensive rehabilitation, Steven was told he would never walk again and would be confined to a wheelchair for life. He did not accept this and was determined to improve his situation. Through a gruelling physiotherapy regime he is now able to walk with walking sticks! However, Steven continues to work hard daily, and has never lost sight of his ultimate goal to walk again independently and believes that the work of Professor Raisman will help him to achieve this.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: black; mso-fareast-font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><span style="font-size: small;">I hope you too will be inspired by Steven and willing to donate to this charity.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: black; mso-fareast-font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><span style="font-size: small;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving &ndash; they&rsquo;ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they&rsquo;ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it&rsquo;s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.</span></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
