Following Ofsed, residential school trips and crazy weekends away I have finally set aside half an hour to set up this page and let you know my tale!

 

Last weekend, my colleagues and I completed the three Peaks challenge in just under 24 hours.  This feels like a massive achievement of was pretty tough!  We started Ben Nevis at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and climbed to the top in under three hours.

After this pleasant and mostly sunny, GREEN experience, we jumped in the minibus straight away and drove to Scafell Pike in the Lake District and started climbing that at 3 a.m. Sunday morning.  This one doesn't hold good memories as it was terrible conditions, driving horizontal rain and gusts of (according to mountain leader) up to 40 mph! I am not an unsteady sort of person (when sober) and I actually properly fell over sideways due to the wind. We also walked through a crazy river thoroughly soaked boots.  All this with the summer waterproof and no torch, chilled to the bone.

 

We then drove to Snowdon and climbed Snowdon reaching the peak with 18 minutes to spare! So we managed to CLIMB the three peaks within 24 hours and took a bit more time to climb down Snowdon, some of my colleagues enjoying a swim in the cairn on the way down (!).

 

A really fantastic experience although sending a sunny weekend on a minibus and spending a Sunday dawn on a windswept, soaking, Wuthering Height may not be repeated in the near future!
