Story

Hi eveyone as you know we Ran the London 2012 Marathon in April 2012, to raise funds for The Paul Southgate Research fund, we managed a respectable time of 4:35hrs.

Please find it in your heart to donate to get us to our target amount, all proceeds go to the "Paul Southgate Cancer Research"

Paul was Claire's uncle and on 19th June 2008, two years on from when Paul was given 3-9 months to live, he lost the battle against cancer. Paul was fortunate to meet the team at the UCL Cancer Instiute who oversaw the rest of his treatment. Paul tried everything including new treatments. His readiness to trial new drugs will help advance the research into them at UCL.

The Paul Southgate Research Fund was founded in his memory to raise funds for research into Head and Neck Cancer at UCL's Cancer Institute, where Paul was treated. The Institute houses world class scientists who are leading research into head and neck cancer, which are some of the most poorly studied and under funded cancers.

About the charity

The UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust exists to support the work of the UCL Cancer Institute. We aim to improve the quality of life and survival of those with cancer, and to develop a generation of new, more effective targeted and individualised treatments.
