Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!!
On Sunday 25th April 2010 I will be taking on the 26.2 miles of the Virgin London Marathon 2010 (some may think I am bonkers, but I've always wanted to do it and am ready for the challenge!!).
The training regime has started and it's going to be an interesting (semi) t-total four months build up - I will keep you all updated on my progress along the way. I hope to see many of you in London cheering everyone along on the day!
After being unsuccessful with the public ballot, I have secured a golden bond place with AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation - UK). AMREF continues to fight HIV/AIDS across Africa with programmes such as in central Uganda and South Africa. TB and malaria can be deadly to people with compromised immune systems. AMREF is tackling all three diseases in tandem, making sure people who are HIV-positive can protect themselves from TB and malaria infection, and that those who do fall ill receive holistic care and treatment. Since volunteering in Tanzania the importance of this work has become even more apparent to me.
So please dig deep and donate if you can!
Massive thanks in advance - Claire x
