Story
So, we both have a big ol' birthday on the horizon and thought that there is no possible better way to celebrate than to half kill ourselves by dragging ourselves round the 26 mile London Marathon.
Lisa is something of a marathon veteran with three under her belt already but she hadn't reckoned on having to train during the long winter months with Claire, whose only marathon experience is cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines, it's probably going to put this age old friendship to the test but hopefully we're both equal to the task.
Most importantly, we're raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, there's no better motivator than knowing that you're raising money for such a great cause and however hard the training gets, it's nothing compared to what Marie Curie's patients go through, so we reckon that it's the least that we can do.
Marie Curie's Nurses provide hands on nursing care to people who are terminally ill, either in their own homes or in one of our nine hospices. Every year we help more than 25,000 patients and their friends and family at a time when they really most need it. So many of us have a loved one who has been affected by cancer, if you would like to sponsor us in memory of a loved one of your own, please do leave a dedication to them in the message column.
Thank you so much for visiting our site, and thank you for all your help in reaching our target! We'll keep you posted or if you'd like to come along on marathon day (25th April) and cheer/laugh, you're very welcome.
Lisa and Claire xx
