Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of you know I go to Scotland games home and abroad so no this is not my beer fund but a really awesome charity that all involved in the Tartan Army are proud of.

TACC is run soley by volunteers, they are all fans and think it's important that 100% of money raised goes to disadvantaged children and young people.

I have put a lot of information here about what the charity does but I think it's really important to know the amount of work these guys do.

When times get tough it's often the most vulnerable in society that are most adversely affected. The Tartan Army Children's Charity are all too aware of this and focus our charitable activity on disadvantaged children and young people. Every single penny raised by our supporters goes to our good causes because TACC is run by volunteers and fans. Since 2006 we have raised over £500,000 to support children.

TACC's main programmes of activity in Scotland are:

1. Supporting a national network of TACC FC football clubs that give children in Scotland's poorest communities access to a healthy meal, top quality football coaching and facilities. The programme works with local charities to provide positive role models, a friendly ear and activities that promote confidence and self esteem building.

2. Our Christmas appeal works with local charity partners to make Christmas more bearable for Scotland's poorest families.  In the past few years our Christmas present campaign has donated £30,000 worth of gifts to families across the land.

3. Most supporters were at some point lucky enough to have someone take them to their first Scotland match. Unfortunately for a growing number of Scottish children this is not the case. There are many children who face great challenges in their lives and have never had this opportunity so TACC takes kids from across our great nation to their first game. An experience that will never be forgotten.

4. TACC are humbled and delighted to have supported the work of numerous individual and charitable initiatives such as CHAS, Aberlour, Sick Kids Foundation, Riding for the Blind, Winter Coats Appeal, Hopscotch respite care and many more in the name of Scotland supporters.

TACC's main programmes of activity abroad are:

1. Every time the Scotland national team plays on a foreign shore TACC are there to demonstrate Scottish generosity, kindness and friendship. Since 2006 we have made 12 overseas donations totally over £200,000 that have built a refuge for Street Children in South Africa, a football pitch for orphans in Spain, a  special baby care facility in Georgia, refurbished an orphanage in Macedonia and provided funding for education and training for children with severe disabilities in Ukraine and Czech Republic.

2. Every time we give a financial donation we also spend time with the kids and helpers, host a Scottish party and leave gifts.

Every penny raised helps children have a better chance at life by providing a new experience, a listening ear or meeting a basic need. Thank you for your support. Without it we could do nothing. TACC is the story of a bunch of ordinary people coming together to achieve extraordinary results for children at home and abroad.
