Story
Yes you're right I have gone completely mad! I am honestly going to attempt to cycle from London to Paris a mere 300 miles (483 km if you're European) over four days from the 22-25 September 2010.
Let me begin by explaining my starting point as I write this at the end of April. I love cycling and have completed the London to Brighton Bike Ride twice (only 54 miles) but I haven't been on my bike for a year and am seriously out of practice. I have purchased a lovely new mountain bike and my first off road ride of 7 miles this week exhausted me and I fell off so I really am starting from the begining. . . riding 80 miles a day for four consecutive days feels like an insurmountable task right now.
So why do I feel the need to put myself through this? As many of you know I lost my wonderful Mum to Lung Cancer at the end of February this year and I promised her that I would do something like this to honour her memory, bravery and strength of character. I want to raise money for a charity that does fantastic work to help people like Mum deal with this awful disease. I also like a challenge, which is just as well!
So I am writing to you to ask for your generous sponsorship and the money I raise will go to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. I need to raise 80% of the £1500 pound target by July to be able to participate. So please give generously as your money is going to a great cause and will help to ensure that I do my training to make the distance! Regular words of encouragement will also be gratefully received ;-).

PS If you wish to follow my progress I will be including training updates on my Facebook page.
