Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am this year riding for Chapter IX of the UK Police Unity Tour. On the 29th July 2016 we will be setting off from Leicester and ride a 180 mile route over two days. On 31st July 2016 we will ride to the National Police Memorial Alrewas Staffordshire to take part in the annual Remembrance Service.
As many of you will know I have ridden for and raised a great deal of money for a number of well deserving charities in the past and I now find myself supporting the families of those who gave their lives for the benefit of us all.
I am riding in memory of Detective Constable 140 Brian Mansell Hawkes who was killed by a German bomb on 19th November 1940. He along with other officers from Charles Street Police Station where setting up an incident post on Stoughton Street Leicester City when the bomb hit.
In doing this I honour, and keep the memory alive of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect the public. Our motto is 'We ride for those who died'
