Story

Well, in true fundraising spirit, if we were going to repeat the success last years Coast 2 Coast bike ride it was clear that it would have to be bigger in all respects – distance, stages, days on the road, fundraising target, etc. Luckily, we do like a challenge, hence the birth of Coast 2 Coast 2. This year’s event will start on 24th August in Truro, Cornwall and will finish in Aberdeen 11 days and 1,111 miles later. In the process, the residents and staff of 40 Barchester Care homes will have the opportunity to welcome the riders as they traverse the country.

Bill Wilson and Dan Goddard (picture LHS & RHS respectively) who rode last years C2C event, will this year be joined by Chris Bamford for the duration of the ride. It is hoped that the threesome will be supported by many riders along the way, just as last year.

We have set a target to raise £60,000, to be shared between our chosen charities - The Barchester Healthcare Foundation and The Alzheimer’s Society.

Further details of the event can be obtained from Nykie.roper@barchester.com

Many thanks for your support.
