Story

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Brain Research Trust in return for me running 26.2 miles around . I managed to get around the course with the ankle giving me grief from mile 5. It was thanks to the inspiration of those I was running for that got me through.

My finish time was 05:06:01 - it was a great day and there was lots of support from the crowd which helped get me through. It helped knowing that Soph, Mum, Dad, Uncle Pete, Aunt Lyn, Emma, Karen, Lucy, Greener and Soph C were dotted around the course spurring me on. It really helped my legs keep moving - because believe me there were times when they really wanted me to just stop running.

It is now Wednesday after the run on Sunday and the aches have just about gone. My motto through the last 6 miles got me through 'pain is temporary, pride is forever!'.

It was also remembering why I was running in the first place. Running to raise money for BRT was in honour of Nana, Uncle Peter, Aunt Marge and Valerie. It was also in memory of Clin and Aunt Audrey. They are the brave ones and have battled things far greater than running a marathon!

The page will remain open until 25/05/2010 - so you can keep donating until then if you wish! Thank you to everyone that has given - family, friends, colleagues, clients and some people that I don't even know! I honestly can't thank everyone that has donated enough for your generosity.
