Update Sunday 21 Feb 2100 hrs.

Well we have done it... We all finished the 13.1 mile course though I am sorry and very annoyed to say that Craig finished shall we say a little way ahead of Andrea and I, but it's the taking part that counts.... right?!!!!

Typically the overnight snow in the North West made it touch and go as to whether the event would be on, but we set off anyway, and had it confirmed at 9am that we were going to have to run.... No going back then...Damn it.

We arrived and gathered with 1600 other runners, many of whom were clearly professionals, and were wearing vests and skimpy shorts (seriously, in the snow... (I know!!!).)

It was a bloomin freezing start, but we quickly warmed up and got into the stride.  Craig felt sorry for Andrea and I and ran the first 2 miles with us, till I gave him the unofficial ok to leave us, and join the real race....

It was the toughest thing I've ever done (and ladies I have to say including childbirth... yes I know!!!) the surface was the thing that got to our joints, not so much the distance.

Anyway, we are very proud to have completed the race, hope to have a few in action photos soon, but having raised some funds for Haiti makes every aching limb and the tiredness worth it.

I have to say, with about 2 miles to go, I did start to feel sorry for myself, yet I did remember why we were trying to raise money, and it did inspire me.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated money so far, and supported us.  If you were thinking of donating, but haven't yet, I am sure you will see Craig and I hobbling round Rochdale this week, and Andrea in Bury and may feel sorry enough for us to donate?

Thank you again for taking time to visit our web page.

Love Julie, Craig and Andrea. xx

We are running our first half marathon next weekend...

We have been training in all weathers thanks to the madness of the snow we had before, during and after Xmas..( 5' deep snow over the Rossendale way, icy roads and blizzard conditions.)

We recognised that although we think we have been hard done by this winter, we really have no idea what trauma means, especially when the Haiti disaster hit.

Yes we found in difficult to get to work, to go to the shops, and had to walk the children to nursery and school, whilst battling the elements to get into work so we could continue to give a service to the communities of Greater Manchester.  We did do it, (and may have moaned just a little bit about the roads, the gritting or lack of it) thinking life was a bit tough, but when you see what is going on in Haiti you realise that your world is not so bad....

Take a look at any news clips re the Haiti earthquake, and please consider if there is any way you can help us raise some money to send to this great charity.

We hope to put in enough effort to finish in a decent time, and to have enough pain and aching limbs to encourage you to feel sorry enough for us to hand over your pounds?

Craig and Julie work at Rochdale, and Andrea works currently at Bury (questing.... but don't hold that against her!?)

Thank you so much in anticipation ?
