To provide Rehabilitation Camps for severely burnt children
For more than 10 years now we at Cripps Sears have been supporting CFBT (formerly Friends of Russia Children).
Over 41,000 children and babies get badly burned or scalded each year, many of whom are left with horrific scarring. The Children’s Fire and Burns Trust is trying to reduce the numbers of burnt children by publicising the risks and effects of scalding and burns, and by working with others to educate children about the dangers of fire and hot water. They support those children who nonetheless do get burnt, and their families, using their experience in rehabilitation to prevent accidents and to help re-integrate those who are burnt.
Its next key project is to raise £50,000 to fund specialist Family Burns Rehabilitation Camps for severely burnt children.
A team of four from Cripps Sears are each planning to ride 350 miles in 5/6 days through Russia with the objective of each raising £2,000 in support of this key project
During our trip we also plan to visit Speranksy hospital in Moscow, where many of the children badly injured in the Beslan siege were treated. The hospital was the original beneficiary of the charity.
