Rowan’s Hospice rely heavily on voluntary donations. The need for this is critical in the aftermath of COVID-19. It costs £7.2 million to care for their patients & 90% of that total is money raised by the local community so we are hoping to raise as much as we possibly can! So many of us either know someone or has had family/friends looked after by Rowan’s and feel it’s a great charity to fund for.

The Solent NHS Specialist Palliative Care Team work very closely with The Rowans Hospice and have supported many during their fight. One person close to all of our hearts is Becky, the Senior Lettings Advisor at Cubitt & West in Portsmouth who’s partner Callum received the devastating news just before his 25th birthday that he has a rare type of Cancer called Insulinoma. For the last 3 years the oncologists & doctors have been trying to manage this disease & he has received various amounts of high strength treatments & chemotherapy’s. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this type of Cancer. He is now starting a long course of Radiotherapy to try & slow the disease down again & minimise the symptoms he has been facing. The Palliative Care team have been amazing supporting Callum, they have helped massively with his pain control & medication to make him as comfortable as possible & are on hand whenever they need them to assist whatever the hour & they couldn’t be more grateful.

We welcome all of your support in raising as much funds as possible for this amazing charity, not only for our dear colleague and her partner but also the many others amongst all of us that are affected from life shortening illnesses.

Charity football tournament being held on Sunday 7th August, to include a fantastic mixed 6 a-side football tournament from the Cubitt & West Employee Teams, Supporters Team, Charity Raffle, Live Music and Food & Drink!
