Story
Parkinson’s UK - Credit
Suisse Banger Rally
Parkinson’s UK is taking part in the
annual Credit Suisse Banger Rally from 12-14 September 2014. The event involves
decorating an old “banger”, driving it from Canary Wharf to Paris via
Luxembourg in three days, and completing a series of challenges on the way to
raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s UK.
Historically,
a charity partner has never taken part in the event, but Credit Suisse is
hopeful that our involvement will help break the fundraising
target for the first time in
Banger Rally history.
Our team: The Cyan-tists
Parkinson’s UK employees Ghalib Ullah, Alex Morton, Maria Taylor and Abbie
Yaxley make up the team, and after a bit of brainstorming decided on the theme
Parkinson’s UK heroes: the scientists helping us get that bit closer to a cure.
How you can help
Please
look out for our fundraising activities - there’ll be cake sales, fancy dress
days, lots of sporting sweepstakes and a gig – so watch out for upcoming
announcements and sponsor us here on our JustGiving page.
Thank you
We’re hugely grateful to Free Spirit Automotive Ltd for very generously providing us with our lovely banger car free of charge. But we still need your help to reach our fundraising target!
Our partnership with Credit
Suisse
Parkinson's UK is the Credit Suisse UK Charity of the Year 2014. The
partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to:
- Fund groundbreaking research into the world's most detailed study of Parkinson's dementia to help future generations.
- Provide more Parkinson's nurses to offer specialist care to the thousands of people with Parkinson's dementia.
- Be transformational for Parkinson's UK and our supporters. It goes beyond just fundraising. The support of Credit Suisse will help us to raise our profile and awareness of the condition among the public and help dispel myths around Parkinson's and Parkinson's dementia.
Thank you for your support
