56(R) Squadron, based at RAF Waddington, provides operational support to our frontline forces stationed around the world, and specifically to those currently serving in . The vast majority of Squadron personnel have had, or will soon have, frontline experience.
Between 17th and 29th June 2010, six Squadron members will be undertaking a mammoth challenge to cycle the length of the in aid of Help for Heroes, which is an organisation founded to help Service men and women who have been wounded in conflict. We hope that, with your help, the team can raise well in excess of £5000 for this most worthy of charities.
Please donate whatever you can, we very, very much appreciate it.
Each team member will attempt to cycle approximately 100 miles per day, covering a total distance in excess of 1200 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats, and will visit memorials and sites of great historical significance to 56 Squadron. This cycle challenge, albeit daunting, provides an excellent opportunity for you to recognise the sacrifices that many of our UK heroes have recently made and to help contribute to their rehabilitation.
