Story

Dave, together with eldest brother Steve, will in early October this year, be taking part in the 50th Anniversary Club Triumph, Round Britain Reliability Run.

Our Grandmother lost her sight early on in our childhood and she always described to us that she was living her life 'In darkness', I thought that this would be a lovely way of giving a small amount of 'light', by being part of this very very worthy cause.

After letting a few people know what I was looking to achieve with my own 1977 Triumph Spitfire I had a few friends very eager to join me but decided to make it a family affair with my brother on what is, an epic 2000 mile, 48 hour virtually non stop (apart from body and car fuel) journey. After leaving Knebworth  on Friday evening, the 7th October 2016, and travelling to John O'Groats in time for breakfast on Saturday we then head West and South to arrive at Lands End for breakfast on Sunday morning, the journey will take us via all manner of roads.

The final leg returns us to the finishing point at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire.

This will put both my car, and both of us through our paces and we all hope to come out at the end all in one piece, fingers crossed.

As the car is 40 years old it has already been in pieces across the garage floor in preparation for the event, hopefully by the time the day comes we will all be fresh, ready and eager for what is a challenge for all Club Triumph car teams taking part.

Thank you all, we will keep you updated of  our progress.

All teams pay for their own entry, fuel and running costs.

No sponsorship will be used to fund the entry.

Many Thanks,

Dave and Steve Allen

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
