Story

On 25th January 2021 my dad lost his fight with cancer. He fought courageously to overcome his initial diagnosis of oesophageal cancer back in 2015. During this time he achieved many of his goals and was so proud to have beaten this devastating disease.

Sadly and unexpectedly he was tragically diagnosed with terminal mesothelioma in January, due to asbestos exposure during his time working within the building trade. This horrendous illness, which nobody should have to endure is heavily under researched and remains one of the few untreatable cancers.

For all those who knew my dad, he was truly one of a kind and a real legend. He was brave, bold and not afraid to speak his mind. However, he loved his friends and family unconditionally. I know how proud it would make him to raise money to prevent others from suffering from this illness.

Please raise a glass for Denis and always keep his memory alive, whilst continuing to live your life as boldly as he did.

In the famous words of my dad ‘END OF’

(Due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to hold the funeral he deserves for all his family and friends to celebrate knowing and loving him. Rather than flowers or a collection please donate generously to help fund scientific research which we hope one day will make this a treatable disease)
