Story

Hi all,

The recent earthquake in Haiti affected everyone worldwide and to show our support the Finance & BPM  team and Alan Miller from the Direct Channels Risk Team are hoping to raise £15000 for the Haiti Hospital Appeal (http://www.haitihospitalappeal.org/).

We will be arranging a number of fundraising activities over the next few months but the main one will be our Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on the 5th of June where 25 of us (led by Nichola Skelton) will be pushed to the limit to try and raise our target.

Those taking part are

Nichola & Andy Skelton, Kerry Leonard, James Arthur (BT), Louise & Mark Needham, Lisa Jackson, Cheryl Fellows, Alan Miller(Risk Team), Matt Leathwood, Roxanne Delforge, Daljit Bharath, Chris Foley, Jimmy Zaidi, Matt Barker, Phil Cockerham, Bev Hampton, Banaras Hussain, Louise Bland & Partner, Paul Webber, Martin Windsor, Clare Ball, Andrew Leonard, Mark Duncan, James Musgrave, Victoria Denton.  Claire Garrod will be acting as support on the day.

Please please dig deep in your pockets and donate as much as you feel able to, every contribution helps.

We have included some text below to inform you of the amazing work the Charity have been doing for the last 4 years ( if you require more information on the work we and the Charity are doing please contact Kerry Leonard on 01179433711)

Haiti Hospital Appeal were established in 2006 to bring lifesaving health care to one of the poorest nations in the world. We were on the ground in Port-au-Prince within 48 hours of the eartquake. We took our ambulance into the ruined capital city and gave out the aid we had carried with us on our seven hour journey from Cap Hatien.

We will continue to provide whatever care possible through this route and bring back as many refugees as we can fit in on the return journey. Many more will arrive at our centre over the next weeks.

We were running health services in Cap Hatien for three years before this disaster and we were planning to open our hospital later this year. Events have overtaken us and although we only have one of the six buildings complete we have put two of these into immediate use and are seeking urgent funds to complete the rest as soon as possible.

Our experience with working and living with the Hatian community has given us a unique relationship and we are trusted and respected by the Haitian Government and health authorities.

Please donate now and help us save lives and fulfil our dream of bringing new hope to this shattered nation.

Thank you all

Regards,

Direct Channels Finance & BPM Team
