Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. It's been three years since the last time I did something to raise funds for a special charity. Sleeping rough in Old Trafford was great but too sedentary for me to do again!
This year I am joining Sense International on a three day trek around Tuscany - we are promised beautiful countryside, lots of hills and some excellent views, plus 25km walking per day which is going to be somewhat of a shock to my system!!
Sense International is a small charity, and the only one that works exclusively with deafblind people in developing countries. I was introduced to their work by a friend Jeremy Charles who has been fundraising for them for years and I have been truly impressed by the work the charity does.
It's hard for us to understand the enormous challenges faced by deafblind people learning about and coping with the world around them. Can you imagine how difficult this can be for deafblind people in third world countries where they often receive no support, are rejected by their communities and are frequently denied their human rights?
Sense International exists to do something about this. It operates in India, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe and East Africa to provide deafblind people with access to advice, opportunities and support that will enable them to exercise their right to be full and active members of society.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online. In return I will commit to support you and your favourite charity when asked.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sense International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
