Thank you for stopping by my fundraising page for Ripple. 

So recently I had been eager to do something to boost my own physical and mental health. Working in health services, life and organising 3 children had all seemed to take over and I wasn't really looking after myself so I decided to sign up to do a white collar charity boxing event in December 2023. 

I have decided to raise money for an amazing local organisation called Ripple Suicide Prevention who I am really proud to work with. 

Ripple is a digital tool that you can use at home to block harmful content on the internet and sign post to help and support. 17 people a day die by suicide in the UK; a staggering figure. Two thirds of suicides in the UK are men. Unfortunately something that I have seen first hand with by a number of my Army friends.  Our brotherhood have experienced this again in recent weeks with the tragic loss of our brother in arms. In the ten years I spent in the military with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, we were fortunate enough that my unit had no fatalities. In the 15 years I have been home I have witnessed six people I knew take their own life as a result of their demons. 

As some of you know, I have had my own journey surrounding ill mental health. I have now made a career using my own lived experience of recovery from serious mental illness to create health and recovery and suicide prevention services. Your support could really help to reach someone at their point of crisis and make a difference.
