Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The charity “DanceSyndrome” has really helped me and my family, together with so many of my friends and their families, through this very challenging last 12 months.

We have all had to take extra special care through this difficult time, essentially confining us to our homes. This in itself has been difficult because, before lock down, we met very regularly developing our dancing skills and having a lot of fun and success along the way. Very happy times with lots of social interaction! Immediately after presenting a full length live Stage Show to a large theatre audience on March 1st 2020, exhibiting a range of our varying dance skills, our face to face sessions had to stop.

This became a very difficult time for us all.

Thankfully “DanceSyndrome” again rose to the challenge and, within a short time, started providing co-led online and specific Zoom sessions to keep us all connected socially and giving purpose to our days, weeks and now so many months! It has helped so much with our fitness, health and general wellbeing.

I now want to give something back.

So, I have set myself a challenge and hope that you might be able to sponsor me, in a small way, to enable me to raise funds for my “Dancing Family”.

I occasionally do a bit of boxing exercise with my Dad. I have boxing gloves and he has the boxing pads. I normally do about 300-400 punches per session. I am training at the moment and have set myself the challenge of building to 1000 per session.

My challenge is that during ‘Downs Syndrome Awareness Week’, 15th-21st March 2021, I am aiming to do 1000 every day for the whole week. I will be carrying on with all my online dance sessions during this time so it is going to be a challenge!

Thank you for considering us and we’ll keep dancing!
