We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Justgiving page.

My son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2007 when he was 9 years old, he is now 20 years old and despite a few ups and downs along the way, Type 1 hasn’t stopped him achieving and realising his potential so far.  This has been possible due to the advances in research and treatment.

JDRF is the world's leading charitable funder of Type 1 Diabetes research and raise money to drive world class research to support work into finding into prevention and cure.  On Saturday 29th June I will be cycling 150 miles Coast to Coast from Seascale to Whitby all in one day!

This iconic route takes you through three of England’s finest National Parks.
The 150 mile journey begins with the infamous Lake District passes of Hardknott and Wrynose, but this is only the start – I’ll then cross the Yorkshire Dales, the Vale of York and the wild North York Moors, finishing in the seaside town of Whitby

This is an opportunity for me to raise a bit of funding to, in my own way give back to the great work JDRF do.  With that, I’ve set up this Just Giving page and I’m asking friends, family, colleagues to join me in supporting JDRF.
