Story

My name is Daniel Toms, I am 23 years old, and next year I am taking part in the Virgin London Marathon on behalf of The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation.

The charity was set up by London chef David Nicholls after his 19-year-old son Dan was left paralysed after swimming into a wave and hitting a sandbank on Bondi Beach in Australia. The charity now raises money to fund innovative medical research in the hope of leading to the repair and cure of spinal injury. For more details please visit www.nichollsfoundation.org.uk

I believe that fundraising for The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation is a fantastic opportunity to help it achieve its underlying aim of helping people through difficult situations and unfortunate events.

I would therefore like to take this opportunity to ask if you can please help me to reach my fundraising target of £5,000. Indeed, I would like not only to reach this target but also exceed it and I believe with your help this will be absolutely possible.

I myself was seriously injured in a car accident and therefore have real understanding of what life must be like for those living with spinal injuries. Yet it is possible to makes dreams come true; dreams of walking again, dreams of playing sports, dreams of being able to live a normal life without a constraints of immobility. Your help and support would go a long way to making a huge difference to people’s lives.

On behalf of The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising site and I look forward to hearing from you.

Wish me luck!!
