Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I met an amazing lady called Alison Hall at a presentation evening in mid November. She told a story of how she had attended a conference in , listening to a presentation on the life of farmers in . Alison and another one of her amazing work colleagues, Tamsin, were touched by the experiences Jasmine talked about in her presentation. From that day on, Jasmine, Alison and Tamsin, took it upon themselves to become committed to doing something!
In 2008, they set up a charity called Seeds for Development. Their mission being to lift farmers out of poverty and support self-sustainability by providing risk free loans, in the form of agricultural inputs such as seed, fertiliser, fungicide and herbicide directly to the farmers.
Since January 2008, they have helped more than 200 farmers move out of poverty to building houses, buying goats, pigs, cows, bicycles and even mopeds. Best of all, the children can now go to school. We now work with more than 400 farmers in 4 farmers groups.
