Aspire challenge updated 17th September 2010

Hi people.

Just want to keep you all updated. I was challenged by my gym instructor at Aspire, Stanmore Orthopedic Hospital to cycle a marathon.  I accepted the challenge to do 26 miles on a exercise bike. This was firstly to prove to myself I could do it physically as I have a CP (cerebral palsy) and secondly it was to raise money for Aspire. I had 2 weeks to complete my challenge. I have managed to complete the marathon in a week. This was over a three day period of 40 minutes a session. So far I have raised £815 on line through my just giving account and I still have sponsorship forms to come in. This is in addition to a further £560 on the last count and still rising.  I have attached a couple of photos and my Aspire record card.

If you haven't already donated and a you would like to you can visit my just giving site www.justgiving.com/Darren-Coulson  or contact me on this E-mail address for a sponsorship form. I've been told I can keep my donations open until December. This is because a kind friend of my Mum's is having a 60th birthday party and wants people to donate to Aspire instead of receiving presents on her birthday.

I would just like to take the opportunity to thank a few people who have really helped raise money for my charity Aspire. These people are Dave Alan for getting people from the herd website who kindly donated a substantial amount of money to the online donations. I would also like to give Keith Martin a mention as he got most of the donations around the Emirates and pubs around Blackstock Road (plus any man to be able to get a score out of Baillie deserves a mention!!) A massive thank you goes out to Lal Hardy and all the staff at Newave tattoo. not forgetting Deluxe digital London, friends, carers and also my family,

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Kind regards
