Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are raising money for St Mary's Hospice in memory of our Nana and Grandad!

St Marys Hospice cared for our Nana and supported her closest family in the final few days of her life, they worked tirelessly to ensure that this really difficult time was made as comfortable as possible for us all.

The Hospice relies on charitable donations to carry out its fantastic work; to offer this end of life support for its patients. Please do what you can to support us in our challenge.

The challenge:

We are cycling from Salford to Ulverston, a trip of almost 100 miles. The reason for this challenge is because as a young man our Grandad would make this journey every other weekend to visit my Nana whom he had met whilst she was displaced during the second world war. Their love blossomed and they went on to enjoy a 65 year marriage before their unfortunate passing within the space of 3 weeks of each other...they just couldn't bear to be apart!

There are currently 17 riders, 4 of these riders are grandchildren and the others are close family friends, all of whom are putting their bodies on the line to support this great cause.
