Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

The MPS Society provides specialist support to children, adults and families in the UK who are affected by MPS, Fabry and related lysosomal storage diseases and we fund research into treatment and therapies. These diseases are rare, genetic, life-limiting conditions with no cure.

Story

Done!   That....was one of the most amazing days I've ever had in my life.   The weather was kind, the crowd was inspiring and amazing and I feel so honoured and so lucky to have had the chance to run such an iconic race while raising an incredible amount of money in the process.

You are all so generous, thank you.   I ran strong (8.5 minute miles) all the way to mile 23 and then abruptly smashed into the wall and really struggled the last few miles!  I finished on 4.33 in the end, would have liked under 4 but hey ho, who cares.  I am so delighted to have done it, and thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of it.

For those who don't know, I did the London Marathon (April 25th) for the MPS Society, a charity which supports my 3 year old nephew and Godson Max in Dublin who has the extremely rare Hunters Syndrome (aka MPS Type II) - an incurable, progressively degenerative enzyme disease.

Thank you so very much for your donations, especially from my little mate Max - it really makes a big difference.

Lotsa luv, Dave K
