We provide emergency support to seafarers to give help and hope for crews worldwide

Story

This is a truly unique and brilliant challenge. Non-stop rowing around the island of Singapore, in the tropical heat, in less than 24 hours...

As a newcomer to Singapore I took this challenge for various reasons; keeping fit, continuing my 'rowing career', (substantially) raising my personal bar for endurance events and meeting interesting people from the local maritime business. This is all good fun!

But most of all, I am doing this to raise money for this massively important, but, perhaps to some, unknown charity fund 'The Mission to Seafarers'. On and around the merchant ships which transport our daily (luxurious) goods all over the world, the seafarers often experience quite harsh and unfair conditions. The Mission offers practical and emotional support wherever and whenever they can with their dedicated volunteers. Through our rowing challenge and the networks of the crew we aim to raise SGD 750,000 (abt. half a million Euro!) to support the Mission.

Proud to be part of the RASI team, I welcome you; friends, family and colleagues to contribute your share to help me with this challenge!

Many thanks!

Dave
