Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To some people 100 miles may not seem a major challenge compared to an iron-man or similar event. I only took up cycling last year and this is 70 miles further that I have ridden before with only 3 months of training ahead of me. My challenge, before and on the day, is only minor in comparison to what children and adults have to go through everyday with brain tumours.
My inspiration comes from the work that Katie Smith https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/katiecake13 has done with her fundraising whilst still receiving treatment for her cancer.
Awareness is everything -
Brain cancer KILLS MORE CHILDREN THAN ANY OTHER TYPE OF CANCER yet nobody really knows anything about it and it gets virtually no funding.
If we don’t start doing something about this now, we’re going to keep losing more and more amazing children because we can’t be bothered to put money into researching new treatments.
Brain cancer is harder to treat than most other cancers. It requires very specific research and, as such, other blanket research into cancer just doesn’t have an impact on brain cancer. Nothing really works at the moment. It’s incurable.
