Fundraising for Kids In Need Of Education - KINOE

National Grid has been working with IT Offshore Development Companies (ODC) in India for more than 16 years. The ODC partners working with National Grid are Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro Technologies and Zensar Technologies.
The 3 offshore partners in conjunction with National Grid have branded a term called Global SpirIT, which is a corporate social responsibility initiative with an objective to support the education of under-privileged children in India. The concept is to get children into education so that they can be taught basic good values and give them a good, education; this encourages them from slipping into street crime, a common occurrence in their neighbourhood and also provides them with an opportunity that may otherwise be denied to them. Currently Global SpirIT is supporting the education of circa 3000 children by improving the infrastructure in the schools, including building science laboratories, IT centres and libraries.

£38 will pay for education for a child for a year
£2 will buy a text book
£3 will provide lunch for a child at school for a month
Funds will be raised for Akanksha one of the Indian NGO’s that Global SpirIT is associated with in India and will be wholly directed at Global SpirIT projects in India. Akanksha are supported in the UK by Kids In Need Of Education (KINOE)
