Story

Hi and thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

I will be running the 2017 London Marathon in support of cardiovascular research at the University of Bristol.

I have not run a marathon before, but used to run quite regularly, my claim to fame being that I once competed in the same race as Mo Farah and crossed the finish line before him. True story, spoilt only by the fact that it was a relay, and I was on a different leg of the relay to Mo.

I am delighted to be supporting an organisation carrying out pioneering research into some of the UK's leading causes of death. I have personally benefitted from the work at the Bristol Heart Institute having had an irregular heartbeat corrected a few years ago by a catheter ablation procedure (made famous in 2004 when Tony Blair had it).

We are trying to raise £12,000, so as part of the 6 runners - I have an individual target of £2,000.

Please have a look here: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cardiovascular/ at all the amazing work going into this cause, so you can see where the money is going.
