Story

On the 17th June 2010 I start my journey to clinb Mount Kilimanjaro, via the Western route. The trip will take 2 weeks in total and I am funding the trip so all the money I raise will go to charity. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single land mass in the world, at 19,700 ft.

I am raising money for the Southend Fund which is part of the Essex Community foundation. The Southend Fund supports 100's of small local charities in Southend providing ongoing financial support, often providing just a little help that can make a great deal of difference.

If you havent already seen it check out my blog  http://kilimanjaro-david.blogspot.com/

Having spent 10 years in Round Table raising funds for local charities in Southend I am well aware of the impact financial support can have on a worthy cause.

Its quite a trek going up Kilimanjaro and I hope in the process of what will be an adventure for me,  I can also help along the way, support local volunteers doing great work in Southend.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am very pleased to report on the 25th June I climbed to the top of mt Kilimanjaro. Thank you to all of you that sponsored me.
