The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

David Kydd of Kydd and Kydd Veterinary Health Centre in Wimbledon is cycling in the Prudential London-Surrey 100: This is a 100 mile recreation of the Olympic cycling road race and has to be completed in less than 9 hours. The event takes place on 10th Aug 2014.

As a vet, David is very keen to try and raise money to help the Guide Dogs for the Blind. This caring association helps many blind and partially sighted people by training and providing wonderful guide dogs who can help bring some independence, freedom and mobility to their lives as well as giving these people a loving friend and companion to be part of their everyday life.

It costs approx. £48,500 for the lifetime costs of such a dog and there are currently 4,500 working guide dogs in the UK. So ongoing funds are essential for this association to continue its good work.

We know people are asked all the time to give to charities, but if you could manage to sponsor David (even by a small amount), this will be going to a very worthwhile cause.

Thank You
