At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you've spoken to me in the last 3/4 months I've probably bored you off your preverbial talking about how, this weekend, I'm taking part in the Barcelona Triathlon.

Those of you who have known me for a long time may be shocked and perhaps even not actually believe it. I did indeed used to pride myself on my high levels of laziness. However, it is true, you can even check the website if you like, my name is there in black ink. A leopard can change his spots, apparently.

For those of you who don't know, an Olympic distance Tri is made up of a 1.5K swim, 40K cycle and 10K run. SOO I've been swimming, cycling and running pretty much constantly for the last 3 months, changing myself from a couch potato into a fully fledged triathlete. I am nearly there, I hope, but certainly need all the encouragement I can get. So I'm asking you to please sponsor me and give me yet another reason not to keel over (a definite possibility) in the run at the end.

I'm raising money for the DEC  (www.dec.org.uk) who are currently appealing for funds to help to victims of the recent disasters in Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines. Tens of thousands of people have been killed and hundreds of thousand more have been affected and they need lots of cash. You should probably donate anyway, but you can do it through me!

Furthermore every penny I raise (to a point) is matched by my wonderful employer Baker Tilly, so lets rinse them out!

Thanks for all your support!
