On the 23rd February 2010, I will be heading off to Tanzania to take part in a 5 day trek, attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Buckingham and Greenacres Riding for the Disabled group.  I am covering all my own costs so all the money raised will go directly to this good cause. 

The group has been established for over 30 years and provides weekly riding lessons for pupils from schools in Milton Keynes as well as Saturday lessons for individual riders from the local area. Their ages vary between 4 and 22 and we now have over 50 children riding with us.

I have been a helper with the group for nearly 20 years and recently became a riding instructor for this group.  I know from personal experience how much enjoyment the children get from riding and being with the horses. There is always lots of laughter and smiling faces.  Each year we also take a group of children away for a holiday to the Clywd Special Riding Centre in Wales.

Not surprisingly we always need to raise funds as the Buckingham and Greenacres RDA is totally dependent on fundraising activities to keep going.
