Story

My good friend Deb was diagnosed with an incurable cancer called Myeloma in 2009  at the age of  34.  Her children, Rebecca and Sam were only 2 and 4.  Deb’s prognosis was 2-5 years.  She had chemo and a stem cell transplant in 2011 and luckily she went into remission for 8 years. Deb found fund raising helped and together with family and friends she raised an amazing £125,000.  Sadly, last year Deb relapsed and is currently undergoing treatment but she wanted to do something positive so decided to raise more money hence £50b450 was born! Deb turns 50 in January 2025 and £6000 has already been raised.

I honestly feel privileged to call Deb my friend, she has helped me immensely over the last few years.    She is a positive, strong lady who faces her illness with such dignity that at times you even forget she is ill.

Brigitte Edmonds and I want to help Deb reach her target so we decided to organise a Body Combat session for 3 hours on Saturday 29th February at Crystal Leisure Centre between 2-5pm. Four fantastic instructors, Brigitte, Gary, Michelle and Omari are giving up their time to help me and raise as much money as we can.  We are asking for a minimum £10 donation on the day for those who can attend but for those who can’t  please donate here.
