Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hey

On Sunday I completed the half marathon. I really feel like I've achieved something. It was by no means easy, and by mile 11 I really felt like I'd had enough! But I finished it in 2 hours and 19 minutes (including a few stretch stops and a toilet break) so I'm pretty chuffed with that :)

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again truly thank everyone that has sponsored me so far; it's a great amount that the National Animal Welfare Trust will appreciate. Visit their website http://www.nawt.org.uk/headquarters/index.asp or like them on Facebook, they might have an animal that needs a home who catches your eye! Pets are amazing...

Saw some really inspiring things along the way; family members faces on other runners tee shirts; all of it creating a camaraderie and a real respect for each runner.

Thanks again...see you, next time?! Maybe I'll stick to 10k...and set myself a goal time and you'll only have to sponsor me if I do it in that time...who knows.

So, here I am a little under a month away from running my first ever serious distance and I find myself doing it for 3 reasons; to raise oodles and oodles of money for the fantastic charity the National Animal Welfare Trust; In memory of my Aunt, Jackie, who passed away suddenly recently, a true animal lover who supported the charity during her life, being from Watford; and my third reason; to challenge myself in a way I've never done before. For those who know me OK, I've always been kind of sporty but not for a while and NEVER running!! I can swim all day and all night but running has always been a real challenge for me; trust me this is no easy feat for me! (Alasdair Luff can vouch for this!)

However, with thanks to Joni and the National Animal WelfareTrust I have this opportunity and I don't want to let anyone down. I started my training in November last year and it's not been easy!

I can't tell you how much it would mean to me and the National Animal Welfare Trust if you could please donate as much as you can, whatever you can afford. The more I raise the more pressure I'll feel to finish, and not just finish but complete it in and smash my goal time. Help give me that edge and raise money for all the animals who find themselves in the care of the National Animal Welfare Trust.

http://www.nawt.org.uk/headquarters/index.asp

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
