On Monday 30 May 2022, we are driving to the Ukrainian border to deliver much needed medical supplies, hygiene and sanitary products to refugee centres and partnership organisations.  We are volunteering for Eden Aid (www.edenaid.org) a small charity that was setup at the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict.  Eden Aid is working in partnership with International Refugee Trust to raise funds for this work.  IRT works in South Sudan (where Debs and I met many years ago), Jordan, Uganda and Tanzania. 

Our journey is 2,400 miles round trip and we will be delivering  suppliers at Przemysl and Cieszanow on the Polish/Ukrainian border.  Once we have delivered our supplies, on the return journey we will be bringing Ukrainians refugees back to their welcoming host families in the UK where they can live in safety, possibly temporarily, possibly permanently. 

We will be travelling in a convoy of six minibuses and this is the 12^th such trip the organisation has done to date.

We are going to be very challenged as it will be circa 26 hours non-stop driving each way.  We are aiming to complete the journey over four days.  Please don’t fear –safety is paramount and we will be changing drivers regularly to ensure everyone’s safe arrival at our destinations!
