Four members of Deloitte's Restructuring Services team in the South will be cycling entering the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, a 9 day, 950 mile plus ride across Britain, culminating in a sprint to the finish line at Lands End on 19th June 2011.
Team Captain Richard "I used to be an elite athlete" Hawes will be leading from the front (if he loses a few pounds and starts cycling a bit quicker).
Richard will be flanked by the most experienced members of the RS South team, Ralph "evel knievel" Paterson and European tour specialist Christopher "king of the mountains" Gray. Bringing the average age of the team down will be Matt "all the gear no idea" Roe. Each member of the team will be cycling a minimum of 600 miles during the nine day ride.
Tim Sloggett from will also be joining the team for one stage of the ride from Ludlow to Bath on 17th June.
The RS South team will be joined by Chris "bike breaker" Eastman from Deloitte's Corporate Finance Advisory team. Chris will be cycling as a solo rider and is therefore committed to completing the full 950 miles. Apparently we climb 70,000 feet during the ride (3 times the height of Everest) and will have to consume 40,000 calories.

Paralympics GB
ParalympicsGB are the charity that supports British athletes through each Paralympic Games. In 2008, ParalympicsGB had their best ever Paralympic Games, and are now less than two years away from the home Games in London 2012.
ParalympicsGB have one chance to ensure that Britain’s Paralympians receive the best possible preparations to compete, and win, against the rest of the world in front of the home crowds. Through these performances they have one opportunity to inspire change in the way people think, feel and behave towards disability and inspire a new generation of people with a disability to get in to sport, but they need help to provide the world class support British disabled athletes need.
