Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In October 2017 my beloved Brother in Law, Mike, passed away aged just 47 after battling oesophageal cancer for four long years. At the time I promised my sister that I would do something challenging to remember him by. Mike was a lifelong supporter of Middlesbrough Football Club and in particular his hero was an ex Middlesbrough and England footballer, Wilf Mannion.

So, in a few weeks time I intend to cycle (unsupported) over a couple of days from Hampshire to the Wilf Mannion statue at the Middlesbrough football stadium, a journey of approximately 320 miles. It promises to be tough and a real challenge, but any hardship and discomfort will pale into insignificance against the pain that Mike went through.

He was so well looked after by various cancer charities and he remained a proud Teessider, so I am hoping to raise some money for the Butterwick Hospice which carries out such important work and care for both adults and children in his home town of Stockton on Tees.
