MACS ( Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support ) is a small national charity supporting people born without eyes or with under developed eyes. This year, 90 families in the UK will be told their babies have no eyes, small eyes, or a cleft in the eye. Many of them will have additional needs or other health challenges. Some will be told there’s no hope that their child will ever see. They may feel hopeless and alone - but they are not alone and there is hope.
MACS is the UK's national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. We help over 3000 people from 1000 families across the UK, supporting them at every stage of their journey by providing peer support, practical help and opportunities to take part in life-changing activity trips. . For more information about MACS conditions and how we provide comfort and support to people impacted by them visit www.macs.org.uk.
I’m thankful to be able to support the wonderful charity that is MACS by running the London Marathon in 2024 for them. I chose to apply to MACS after reading about how they support families who have children that are born with little or no sight. After reading the stories ( one was about a family local to me) on their web page I was in tears … it’s so unbelievably sad but MACS is there to help and support which is just wonderful.
I understand that times are difficult for everyone but if you could even spare just one pound, it would be much appreciated. Thank you xx
