Story
Hi Everyone :-)
I’m running the London Marathon 2018 for Penny Appeal’s Dig Deep campaign to raise money to build a Deep Water Well in The Gambia.
Every day approximately 1,000 children under five die from
diseases associated with dirty water; that’s according to the latest UNICEF and World Health Organisation figures.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t sit on my hands waiting for
things to get better – that’s why I’m running my first ever London Marathon.
I want to raise as much money as I can for Penny Appeal’s Dig Deep campaign, which is building a deep water well for vulnerable communities living in The Gambia.
And I’m asking every one of you to show your support for this worthy cause. You don’t have to run a marathon with me; you just have to make a donation!
Your donations mean Penny Appeal will Dig Deep and
build a deep water well for communities affected by drought and famine.
Each well transforms a whole community, providing enough clean,
fresh water to drink, wash, cook, raise livestock and grow crops for life.
It’s an amazing thing to do, and every well built saves more young lives from easily preventable waterborne diseases.
Today, 1.8 billion people in the world still use a source of
drinking water that is contaminated by diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio.
Every well we build will stop children travelling for miles to collect water; it will give girls the freedom to attend school and it will save the lives of both the young and the old.
So please, whatever you do, don’t leave this page without donating what you can to help us build a well, transform a community and save children’s lives.
