We provide life-saving treatment to men in suicidal crisis.

Story

On 2nd June Harry is setting off with a few mates to cycle from

Land’s Ends to John O’Groats.  It’s abut 1,100 miles and they plan to do it in less than two weeks.

Most of you will know of my darling brother Jamie, who very tragically took his own life five years ago.  We all miss him so much.  He was a very special person as many of you will know, which is is why we would so love to support James’s Place in memory of Jamie.

This wonderful charity was set up by Claire Milford Haven & Nick Wentworth Stanley in memory of their son James, to steer men from taking their own lives; for some reason men are more at risk than woman    Crucially it’s a place where friends & family of someone they fear is at risk can refer him to, rather than the scary psychiatrist & prescription drugs which from our own experience did not work and may have even exacerbated Jamie’s state of mind; for some reason he felt there was no hope. It is a place where boys and men can go which is very welcoming and where they can get the help and support they need at a very difficult time in their lives.  In Jamie’s case it was a one off and came out of the blue which made it all the more tragic.

We all miss Jamie so much every day and I feel sure that if he had been able to go to Jame’s Place he would still be here today.   It would mean so much if you could support Harry & I to help us raise money for this very brilliant and special charity .  Every donation, be it large or small, will go towards saving a precious life and preventing family heartbreak.

Our mission is to stop men dying by suicide and we believe death by suicide is preventable. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. At James’ Place, we provide proven, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.
