On 8th July 2019, I lost my mother Nirmala Mistry aged 72 after she battled for many years with multiple health issues, primarily Parkinson's disease and heart failure.  Mum was born in Mombasa-Kenya, and so in her memory I am supporting a small charity "SeeKenya" on a two week mission (22nd Sept - 5th Oct) to run an eye clinic on the outskirts of Meru, near Nairobi.       

SeeKenya aims to provide specialist treatment and high quality eye care services to marginalised communities.  With 95% of Kenyans living without access to eye care, there is a desperate need for help.  The life expectancy of those who become blind in Kenya is just 5 years.  Through the provision of clinics, eye health screening, prescription glasses and medication SeeKenya are saving sight and saving lives.  

Typically in 2 weeks, we will be visited by approximately 150 people per day and dispense 1000 prescription glasses, along with professional eye care advice and medication.
