I really want to set myself a challenge this year. I am always pretty busy these days, but running is something I do for "me" and get a great sense of achievement from. The Stroke Association is a charity close to my heart. In 2009, my Dad suffered a major stroke and was seriously affected by this cruel condition. I hope that running this marathon will make him see how much he means to me and all his family and how glad we are that he has been able to bounce-back from his stroke. I hope that more research will help to prevent strokes and also reduce the impact of the condition.
