Story
UPDATE
I completed the walk in 1 hour 34 minutes. Did 1 and a quarter miles on crutches, the rest in the chair, with some help from my friend when I got too tired! Thank you all for your donations. They will really make a difference.
UPDATE
Due to my recent knee injury, I will now be doing the twilight walk with a self propelling wheelchair, but with the aim to walk at least half on my crutches.
After years of doing fun things to raise money for charity, I decided i'd set myself a real challenge to raise money. I will be taking part in The Twilight Walk on 19th June to raise money for Leicestershire's Local Hospice. It is a 7km walk starting at 10pm at night. Not a big challenge for many people, but it will be the furthest i've walked since my knee injury. Loros do great work and working for them makes me immensely proud. Loros run a 31 bed hospice, a day care centre, many clinics and provide support and care for terminally patients and their families. Over 2,500 people in Leicestershire and Rutland benefit from Loros each year. The charity has to raise a minimum of £4 million a year to keep the hospice and day care centre running, so please sponsor me and help raise as much money for Loros as possible!
Thanks!
